AB 2514: Rainy Day Energy
Developing technology to store electrical energy so it can be available to meet demand whenever needed would represent a major breakthrough in electricity distribution. AB 2514 (Skinner) requires the California PUC to determine appropriate targets for energy storage systems. This process is essential because investing in cost-effective, grid-connected energy storage systems will ease the integration of higher levels of renewable energy into the state's electricity grid, as well as optimize the use of renewable energy that is generated during periods of low demand.
