AB 2153: Water conservation: new requirements & mitigation
California faces a looming water shortage that will need to be addressed with a large dose of water efficiency and use reduction. AB 2153 (Krekorian) would have required new residential and commercial buildings to include all feasible and cost-effective measures to reduce water use and then to offset its remaining water use through offsite mitigation projects, targeting affordable housing and public buildings.
