The candidates’ answers on global warming

voting_color_square.jpgCalifornia voters deserve a President who stands with them on the central environmental issue of this election. Following up on last week’s post, we are letting you know where the presidential candidates stand on our state’s landmark, bipartisan global warming strategy.

CLCV asked all the remaining Presidential candidates to respond to four simple questions that together focus on the central environmental issue for California voters in this campaign: Will the next President join California’s fight against global warming—or continue standing in the way?

The candidates’ answers, along with their basic positions on global warming, are at ecovote.org/answers.

According to the Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, “If there’s no action before 2012, that’s too late. What we do in the next two or three years will determine our future.” [“Climate Change 2007: Synthesis Report (Fourth Assessment Report),” Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, 11/17/07]

Read the candidates’ answers, and vote the environment on Tuesday!
