Rendon appointed as Asm. Water Parks & Wildlife Chair

Exciting news to report this morning! Yesterday, Speaker John A. Pérez appointed our friend and colleague Assemblymember Anthony Rendon to serve as the next chair of the Assembly’s Water, Parks, and Wildlife Committee. We are excited about this appointment by the Speaker because Assemblymember Rendon is an up-and-coming leader in the state capitol and a proven environmental champion.

Assemblymember Rendon was elected in November 2012 to represent California’s 63rd Assembly District, which includes the communities of Bell, Cudahy, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, Long Beach, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount and South Gate. I first met him, however, when he was Interim Executive Director here at CLCV in 2008. He had previously been involved as a board member of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, and following his stint as Executive Director, he served on CLCV’s board as well. Read more about Assemblymember Rendon at his website.

Please join us in sharing our sincere thanks to Speaker Pérez for a strong appointment and our congratulations to Assemblymember Rendon on this important appointment. We are looking forward to working with both of them as stewards of California’s future.
