Dear Assemblymember:
I'm writing to urge you to sign Assembly Bill 99 (Feuer), which will expand the market for alternatively fueled vehicles in California.
Though gas prices have been going up, I'm personally more concerned about the long term costs of petroleum-fueled vehicles: global warming, smog, air pollution, childhood asthma, and the environmental impact of extracting fossil fuels from the earth, to name a few.
It is important to me that California reduce the demand for oil and encourage the adoption of alternative fuels, in order to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, improve air quality, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
AB 99 is part of the strategy to get more alternatively fueled vehicles on the road. It will require that half of new cars sold in California be alternative-fuel vehicles by 2010 and will create stronger emission and performance standards for cars.
Please support AB 99 and help California lead the way in producing more clean energy vehicles.
Sincerely,
