Groundswell is the newsletter for members of the California League of Conservation Voters.
More than 400 leaders of the environmental, health, labor, and business communities attended the 27th Annual CLCV Northern California Environmental Leadership Awards on Friday, June 5th, to honor three voices of the new green economy: Next 10 founder F. Noel Perry, Green For All founder (and White House adviser on green jobs) Van Jones, and Senate President pro Tempore Darrell Steinberg.
The event took place in the beautiful and historic Rotunda Building in downtown Oakland — a city that in many ways is the home of the movement to create high-quality green-collar jobs that protect the environment and expand opportunities for all people in California and across the country.
CLCV itself was honored at the event with a surprise award from Secretary of State Debra Bowen for our “exceptional work” in the area of nonpartisan voter education and outreach.
