CLCV Earth Day Events

The California League of Conservation Voters and the CLCV Education Fund encourage you to join us in celebrating Earth Day 2007! We're very fortunate to have newly elected environmental leaders celebrating such a great cause with us by attending some of our events in both Northern and Southern California, and we hope you will too.

Our upcoming Earth Day events:

Earth Day LA

Saturday, April 14th, starting at 10 am
3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Booth 23 (North of Arizona St.)

CLCV will have a table at this free event for the whole family, where over 15,000 shoppers, volunteers, and environmentally concerned people throughout Los Angeles will come together to participate. If you arrive before noon, you can meet two of our newly elected environmental leaders: Assemblymembers Julia Brownley (D-Santa Monica) and Mike Feuer (D-Los Angeles) will be joining CLCV at our table. See the Earth Day LA website for more information.

Oakland Zoo Earth Day

Sunday, April 15th, 10 am to 3 pm
9777 Golf Links Road, Oakland

CLCV will have a table at the Oakland Zoo Earth Day. Join us and dozens of other Bay Area environmental organizations as we explore nature, animals and greener living while having a great time! Learn about wildlife with Live Animal Presentations and explore the newly restored Arroyo Viejo Creek. For more information, see the Oakland Zoo Earth Day website.

Oakland Earth Expo

Wednesday, April 18th, 10 am to 2 pm
Frank Ogawa Plaza (14th & Broadway, in front of Oakland City Hall)

Mingle with Oakland’s downtown workforce as over 100 dynamic businesses and organizations showcase their contributions to a sustainable urban environment. Bring your used household batteries, enter a raffle, learn the latest about office recycling, green building, and more. Exchange your mercury thermometer for a digital thermometer--bring it in a zipper bag to prevent spills. And, of course, stop by CLCV's table. For more information, see the Oakland Earth Expo website.

West Contra Costa County Earth Day

Saturday, April 21st, 11 am to 3 pm
101 Pittsburg Avenue, Richmond

The West County Earth Day features music and entertainment, food, workshops, games and activities, and prizes. Meet Assemblymember Mark DeSaulnier (D-Concord), who will arrive at CLCV's table at 1 pm. For more info, see the West County Earth Day website.

If you can't join us for these great Earth Day events, see our events page for more.
