Volunteer Opportunities
Our candidates need your help in the last few weeks of the campaign!
With just weeks left before Election Day, there are still many opportunities to volunteer and help make a difference in getting environmental voters to the polls.
- 10/16: Join CLCV staff and members as we walk precincts for Assembly candidate Ira Ruskin in Assembly District 21 (Palo Alto) this Saturday, October 16, starting at 9:30 a.m. There will be a barbeque at 2:30 pm courtesy of the campaign. Simply show up at the campaign office in Palo Alto or contact the campaign for more information at iraruskin.org.
- 10/22-24: Join us in Portland, Oregon (pictured above) going door to door convincing undecided voters to vote for Kerry! The Environmental Victory Project is sponsoring a free bus trip to Portland, Oregon from the Bay Area. Hotel costs for Friday and Saturday night are deeply discounted (roughly $30-40/person total). The bus will leave mid-morning Friday, October 22 and return late Sunday, October 24. Get more information or sign up by contacting our office at 510-271-0900 (1-800-755-3224 outside the Bay Area) or by emailing ecovote@ecovote.org.
- Ongoing: We have priority races all over California! For more volunteer opportunities in other parts of the state, please call or email us!
Animated opposition to Prop 64
A humorous take on a serious subject
CLCV is urging all Californians to vote NO on Proposition 64 on the November 2nd ballot. (See our Action Alert on Prop 64 for more information.) Many other environmental and public interest groups have joined us in our opposition to the misleading ballot measure that will allow environmental damage to proceed practically unchecked.
Consumer interest groups have created an informative and entertaining Flash animation opposing Prop 64. Watch the video and pass it on to all of your email contacts before the election!
