Statement from Sarah Rose, CEO, California League of Conservation Voters:

“This is what climate leadership looks like. Today California Governor Jerry Brown issued an executive order to establish a greenhouse gas reduction target for California of 40 percent below 1990 levels by the year 2030. Governor Brown has set a bold target in order to curb dangerous carbon pollution over the next 15 years – a target that keeps us on the path we set for our state in 2006 with the passage of the nation’s first landmark climate and clean energy law, AB 32.  It’s up to all of us who care about our families, our communities, our wild places and the future of this beautiful, special place we call the Golden State to make this goal a reality.”
