Dear Editor:

I am appalled at the behavior of Congressman Richard Pombo (R-Tracy), chairman of the House Resources Committee.

Representative Pombo, who is in a position to serve his district and the nation, is instead abusing his position of power for the exclusive benefit of his corporate cronies and his family’s own financial gain. His anti-environmental, ethically questionable agenda benefits his own family, his special interest friends in the energy and development industries, and the indicted former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay--at the expense of his constituents and the environment.

I encourage your readers--especially Pombo's constituents--to find out more about Pombo's abuses from the California League of Conservation Voters at ecovote.org/pombo.

Sincerely,

Tips on writing letters to the editor

Keep it short and sweet. Letters should be brief, clear, and to the point. About two to three short paragraphs (150-250 words) should adequately address the issue. Newspaper space requirements dictate that short letters are much more likely to be printed than long ones.
