CLCV STATEMENT ON BIDEN’S ENVIRONMENTAL APPOINTMENTS: REGAN TO EPA, HAALAND TO DOI

Oakland, CA - The California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) today released statements on the nominations of Michael Regan to lead the Environmental Protection Agency and Rep. Deb Haaland to lead the Department of the Interior.

Statements from Mary Creasman, CEO, California League of Conservation Voters:

In Response to Michael Regan’s Nomination:

“I'm excited to see Michael Regan chosen as the next Administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency. We are eager for him to set a courageous agenda at the EPA and center the voices, experiences, and solutions of Black, Indigenous, and people of color. This needs to be a centerpiece of how we address environmental issues and the climate crisis.”

In Response to Rep. Haaland’s Nomination:

“I commend President-Elect Biden’s historic nomination of Deb Haaland as Secretary of the Interior. She will be the first Native American to lead the Department - a long overdue appointment. She has been at the forefront of addressing the climate crisis and will bring her vast experience protecting America’s public lands to the Interior Department.”
